Dark Passage Films is proud to spotlight Trapped Inside, a spine-chilling short horror film by Usher Morgan, now available to view online:

A Terrifying Premise Brought to Life

In Trapped Inside, Macy Nash (Elyse Price) wakes up in a bathtub, edges of consciousness blurred—only to discover she's trapped in her own bathroom. What begins as confusion escalates into palpable dread as she realizes she's not alone. Described as “flat‑out intense, sinister, and chill‑inducing,” this claustrophobic horror piece grips viewers with its atmospheric tension and psychological depth.

A Festival Powerhouse

The film's impact extended beyond the screen. Trapped Inside earned over 30 nominations in the Best Short Horror categories and secured multiple awards, including:

• Best Horror Short at the New York Short Film Festival (2018)
• The Chaney Award at Flint Fright Night (2018)
• Best Horror at the Next Level International Film Festival

Critics praised the film’s emotional and psychological force:

“What Morgan has been able to do is commit an act of emotional terrorism on his audience, and in doing so, has ended up making one of the best short horror films of the year.” — ScreenCritix

“I rarely scare that easily watching a horror flick, but this sent a distinct shiver up, down and around my spine.” — UK Film Review

A Visionary Filmmaker

Directed, written, and produced by Usher Morgan—whose credits include the acclaimed feature Pickings and the viral short Prego—Trapped Inside showcases a filmmaker unafraid to explore extreme emotional landscapes through minimalist, character-driven storytelling threads.
